Our hybrid bearings combine ceramic rolling elements with rings made of bearing steel, thus providing optimal protection against contamination, vibrations, and electric current passage. They are durable, electrically insulating, and versatile, making them suitable for use in electric motors, railway vehicles, wind generators, and machine tools. Schaeffler's hybrid bearings are marked with the prefix HC and are available as both ball bearings and cylindrical roller bearings.

Product Properties of Hybrid Bearings
Schaeffler hybrid bearings set new standards compared to conventional steel bearings. Thanks to ceramic rolling elements made of silicon nitride, which result from intensive research and development, these bearings are characterized by their high resistance to electric current passage. This prevents electrical erosion and significantly reduces bearing failures.
Due to the lighter weight of the rolling elements, hybrid bearings are significantly lower in friction compared to all-steel bearings. This allows for up to 20 percent higher rotational speeds and leads to lower operating temperatures. All these factors contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions.
